the time of my life

Hola. I'm home right now, and realizing how much I miss internet. Boo. We should have it in the apt. soon. Until then, it's all about the library. (and trips home) I just finished organizing a lot of stuff for my yard sale tomorrow, wow-I have seriously TOO many clothes-and I'm selling like 1/5 of them. I'm selling enough to make up one person's wardrobe. Darn my retail job-perpetually in style but perpetually spending my paycheck. Thank goodness for subbing-I am praying that I get calls VERY soon. I just finished all of my paperwork, so hopefully they will begin calling this week.

Not much is going on, classes have started, I got my hair cut really short (it's hot, yes it is!), I didn't get to go to the Gretchen Wilson/Montgomery Gentry/Brooks and Dunn concert tonight and I'm jealous, and that's about all I know right now. Meh. More later!

Hey all...

It's been awhile, but I'll have internet again soon. Until then, this will have to do. God bless the UIS library's internet.

Saturday marked my last day as full-time at Famous Barr. Call ME excited! Woo-hoo! Now all I need is for the subbing to become regular so I can pay my bills...hoorah. That, and classes are underway, my first one is on Wednesday (p.s., I still have to register for it...lol). Only ten hours left and I'm a free woman. Academically free, that is-at least for the time being...until I decide to do another degree.

The new apt. is great-the furniture will be ordered soon, but until then, me and Michelle are making do with what we have, a few chairs and a bean bag. But the bedroom set has arrived (last weekend), so things are pretty good.

Lori moved into U of I yesterday, so if you're still on the UIUC campus, say hi to my sis if you see her. I hope she loves it!

Meanwhile, here in Springfield, things are good, and for the first time in about a year and a half, I think I can honestly say I like someone again. I've been burned, you might say, and quite afraid of opening up, but maybe things have changed again. If you know me, you know that I'm pretty picky and I don't go for your average american dumbass frat boy-I like substance. I might just have found a guy who qualifies, but I'm a big chicken, so leave words of support, seriously-this one might be a keeper, so any advice is welcome. More details to come on that one, but I've got errands to run, so until next time...take care, walk softly, and carry a great big freaking GEORGE W. BUSH sign-lol. I don't know where that came from, what was I thinking? I don't really like the guy as much as I used to, but he's better than Kerry (everyone KNOWS he pisses me off beyond belief), and if he gets elected again I just might have more job options if I decide to move to D.C.-seeing as IL is screwed for the next 2 1/2 years, yeah. TTYL!

On the move...

Me and Michelle are leaving the campus townhouses! Our new apartment is less than a quarter mile away, and it's amazing! But before I go into the details, here is the new addy:

6301 S. 6th Street Rd.
Apt. #7
Springfield, IL 62712

SO...the apt. details. I always thought my bedroom in Centralia was nice-sized-until I saw my NEW room! It's a good 50% bigger than my home room-and did I MENTION the closet? AHHHHHHHH!!! Me and Brandis checked out the apt., and after my VERY audible gasp and spin in the HUGE walk-in closet, Brandis confided that she wanted to scream to the landlord, "SOLD!" lol. But seriously-I'm so excited, seeing as I'll now be able to SEE ALL of the amazing clothes I have, not to mention handbags and shoes. Hooray! The kitchen and living room are both nice-sized, and there's one good-sized bathroom.

Anyway, that's the new place. I'm bringing my beautiful bedroom set from home, along w/ my desk. I have pretty much everything for the kitchen and bathroom, and I'm buying a living room set and a kitchen table next month. Until then, we're going to rely on bar stools and Michelle's recliner, but seeing as I'll have my bedroom stuff, I'll spend most of my time in there anyway.

Anyway, I'm going to host a huge housewarming party as soon as we have our new furniture and stuff. Plus, my old roommates (Brandis and Jess) are still planning to have our Halloween party we had planned-it should be a blast. In addition, me and Michelle are planning a Margaritaville party. Our new place is going to be quite happening!

Until then, I'm exhausted, and tomorrow is going to be a loooo-oooong day...so I'll post more later. I won't have internet in the new place for a few weeks (we're holding off on cable, bc this move was quite spur of the moment and money is kinda tight), but once September hits we're planning on wireless internet-then I can take my laptop anywhere! YAY. That's all for now, folks! If you need me in the next few weeks, just call-the cell is going to be my primary phone from now on-but really, it already was!

hey ya'll...

Let's see...what's going on?-working nonstop, as usual, although I had Thursday and Friday off, which was quite nice. This time was spent going to Chambana (Tanya's going away bash), taking a brief trip home, and just enjoying NOT being at work. Chambana was good times as usual, it was very sad to see Tanya leave, but I'm going to visit her on Spring break, so it will be great. And thank goodness for e-mail and cell phone minutes...it's very easy to stay in touch nowadays.

Friday night was spent over in STL, listening to the Bradford Marsallas jazz quartet on the river, which was awesome. It was part of the summer Riversplash festival. The following morning I headed back to Springfield to work for the remainder of the weekend.

Not much else is going on, work (AS USUAL!), but (surprise!) I am probably going to be moving. This is due to the fact that I am going to be paying for my school myself this semester, and want to take only 5 hours next semester, and the remaining 5 in the spring, but in order to stay in the townhouses on campus, I must take 8 hours per semester. STUPID. In addition to the hours, I also will save about $100 a month by living in the off-campus apartment. I'll be rooming with my current roommate Michelle, and escaping the horrors-that-be in the UIS housing department-we will pay less, have bigger, nicer rooms, functional toilets (don't ask!), in addition to being able to have pets and throw parties whenever we damn please. Oh, and we'll have a deck outside. How cool is all this? I'm touring the place tomorrow, but I've heard enough from Michelle (who is as picky about apts. as I am) to think that I'll really like it. Anyway, future contact info will be provided in the coming days...

Hey guys, what's up?

So here's a rundown of the last few days...

-POS 563, my only summer class is over! Hooray. Hopefully I made an A (I really should have).

-I purchased my first Vera bag. Sweet! This is becoming an unhealthy obsession (looking at the bags), and now I want a jewelry case and garment bag. Yikes! However, the garmet bag is kinda expensive-it might have to wait till Christmas. Might.

-Went out with Victoria in downtown Springfield last night, and brought Marylynn and Angela, exposing her to our nightly rituals. I hope she wasn't too horrified...good times were had by all. (and a number of thin mint martinis)

-Going to Chambana today for Tanya's going-away bash, in addition to varioius other forms of entertainment. It will be the first trip in the new car. Should be nice!

Not much else going on. I'll update later this weekend.
